Bisalpur Dam is among the major multipurpose water projects of Rajasthan. This dam is located on the Banas River in Tonk district and is an important source of drinking water and irrigation for many big cities and rural areas of Rajasthan. Bisalpur Dam plays an important role especially in the water supply of Jaipur, Ajmer and Tonk.
Bisalpur Dam has been constructed on the Banas River. The construction of the dam created a huge reservoir, which collects water through rain and river. When the inflow of water in the dam increases during monsoon, its water level becomes very important for the water management of the state.
